Terms of Service

Welcome to HPG Gear Exchange ("the Service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service is a venue only

HPG Gear Exchange is a community classifieds board for hockey gear. We are not a party to any transaction between users. All sales, trades, payments, shipping, returns, and in-person meetups are arranged solely between the buyer and the seller. We do not inspect, endorse, authenticate, or guarantee any listing, user, item, price, or message.

2. Liability disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HPG Gear Exchange, its operators, volunteers, and affiliates disclaim all liability for any loss, damage, injury, theft, fraud, defective gear, or dispute arising out of or related to: listings, communications between users, in-person or remote transactions, the use or inability to use the Service, or any user-submitted content.

You use the Service at your own risk. You agree that any dispute is solely between you and the other user. You release HPG Gear Exchange from any and all claims, demands, and damages arising out of any such dispute.

3. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 13 years old (users under 18 require a parent/guardian).
You are responsible for the security of your account and all activity under it.
You agree to provide accurate contact and listing information.

4. Prohibited items and conduct

See the Prohibited Items page. You also agree not to:

List counterfeit, stolen, recalled, or unsafe goods.
Harass, threaten, defraud, dox, or discriminate against other users.
Scrape, spam, or attempt to bypass moderation or rate limits.
Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of local law.

5. User content

You retain ownership of content you post (listings, photos, messages, ratings). You grant the Service a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the marketplace. You represent that you own or have rights to any content you upload.

6. Moderation

We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, remove listings, disable accounts, or refuse service to anyone for any reason — including suspected violations of these Terms, community safety concerns, or to comply with law.

7. Records

We maintain records of accounts, listings, conversations, transactions initiated through the Service, ratings, and moderation actions, to keep the marketplace safe, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
